Been busy with a few interviews and portraits lately and I am honored to have interviewed some wonderful musicians and just great folks!
In August I interviewed Wayne Henderson's daughter Elizabeth ( I call her Jayne) and her mom Carole . Jayne says her mom kind of gets overlooked as her Dad is such a well know luthier and musician and she ,of course, knows her Dad deserves the attention he receives  , but she feels her Mom also needs to be acknowledged . I agree ! Carole is also a very talented musician, fiddle luthier and a great Mom ! She raised an amazing daughter ,who now works along side her Dad as a budding master Lutheir and she has produced some stunning guitars and Ukes in their Rugby shop. Jayne says learning guitar making has really brought her and her Dad a lot closer over the years. More about them in the upcoming book! (and I will post a pic here soon )

Last month I interviewed Erynn Marshall, an award winning fiddler from Canada , who now lives here in the Va mountains in Galax with her talented musician  husband , Carl Jones. She told me about her journey from Canada to our mountains and her love for Appalachian music . Stay tuned for a portrait of her taken in the hay loft at the Virginia House on Reed Creek farm.

Last month I also interviewed Erica Joy Rising , a strong independent single Mother and a folk/alternative singer/song writer residing in the country side of Floyd , Va. Great visit with her discussing the struggles of keeping her dream alive while also keeping her daughter thriving !  Pix soon!

Yesterday I interviewed Steve Kilby who is very well known in this region for his outstanding guitar picking. He has won many festival awards and has been involved in our music since a child where he learned the roots of his picking from his loving grandfather.  His wife Penny accompanied him for his interview and we had a great time talking !

Stay tuned for pix of this great musicians and please check back for updates !
Thanks Y'all !
