Finally we are getting some beautiful weather and so I'm back to focusing on interviews and portraits for this here book !
Sammy Shelor will be interviewed within this coming month and I also contacted Stevie Barr again to see if he has time for an interview ( I interviewed his Daddy last year) and I want to chat with his Momma, Becky too  ,as she is a talented musician as well !
Other musicians coming up are Willard Gayheart ,who so many adore ,and I'm sure he will be an interesting interview as his artistry is so diverse and yet within the same subject area.
Scott Freeman, who had an emergency come out last year and we had to reschedule, so hoping he will have time this year!
Here is some interesting news about the book. I was chatting with Erica Joy and she suggested I split the book into a 3 volume set . Since the subtitle is "Our Music, Our Mountains, Our Memories " that makes sense ! So the first volume will contain all the portraits and conversations and that will sure fill up one book !
Yesterday I spent the evening with Sam Gleaves at The Virginia House on Reed Creek Farm and we did a portrait session for his new CD "Ain't We Brothers" . I will be designing the CD !  If you are not familiar with Sam's work, please look him up as he is amazing ! Sam writes the most beautiful original songs and has a voice that is sweet and yet very much of the mountains in which he grew up.
He has such a sensitive soul that gives him the ability to write about the pain of others such as the title track "Ain't We Brothers" and "Grandpa's Working Shoes" . His CD is going to be a jewel so be sure and look for it !
I'll be back with more news soon ! So be sure and check back !
I will be announcing the perks for the fund raiser , which will be awesome and plentiful !
This is gonna be a crazy few months as my daughter graduates from JMU in May and will be off to her wonderful new life ! But I will make time for everything because the warm months are magical ! Yay Spring !!
